10 Ukes Project

I have begun a project to build ten custom themed ukuleles for my friends who have given me lots of support and inspiration for my ukulele projects. Each ukulele will use the same basic soprano plan, but each will differ in the species of wood used and the personalized artistic details suited to the recipient.

My production plan is to produce each part at the same time as opposed to building each ukulele one at a time. The thought being that once I have set up a tool or jig to make a cut, I can then make all ten cuts, eliminating the need for repeated set ups.

So far, my process has been:
1. Collect wood and begin to contact potential recipients about project.
2. Sort wood into kits.
3. Assign kit number to recipient and begin to refine wood choice and artistic goals.

About to close up the boxes

The backs are just about ready to go on. I still need to add a rim of the kerfing to the top part of the sides. Just finished getting the tops trimmed and the sound hole cut out.
